Louise Haynes
Biography:
Brought up in Sydney, Australia, Louise's early musical influence came via music lessons that led her to train as a piano teacher. Her fascination with jazz was ignited by an Oscar Peterson concert at Sydney Town Hall. Louise was inspired to put on piano concerts in the Sydney Town Hall, which subsequently led her to managing Roger Woodward for over 2 years and initiating the Sydney Spring Festival of New Music at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Moving to the NSW Central Coast in 1992, Louise initiated the Central Coast Jazz Festival which ran for five years. She also presented a weekly music and interview program on Gosford community radio 2CCC FM during this time. In the festival's fifth year, Louise moved it to Dooralong Valley Resort where she took on a full-time role in events management. When the resort changed hands in 2001, Louise moved to the Gold Coast and taught Events Management at Gold Coast TAFE and initiated the Gold Coast Seniors Health & Lifestyle Expo. Her textbook An Introduction to Events Management is used by many in the field. Today she is busy with a dozen different projects and enjoying music of all genres.
